Where.

All our products are designed and made on the north coast of Cornwall. This has four major advantages:

We can walk to the beach! We don’t have to import container loads of products, which means our range can be kept up to date, fresh and ahead of its game. We can design, develop and manufacture a new product in weeks rather than years, which again keeps our range fresh and current.

Our ECO products are truely ‘closed loop’. The same plant pot recycled at the local garden centre last month is back in the same store being sold as a bird feeder! What’s so important about buying British? Buying British made recycled products doesn’t get any better! It’s true ‘closed loop recycling’ coupled to ‘closed loop economics’. Apart from us 19 different UK companies are directly involved in designing, making, distributing and selling a typical ashortwalk product. That doesn’t include all the spider companies that supply those 19 companies, from the burger van outside the factory to the solicitors and accountants.

Who.

A team of 7 people design and make all the ashortwalk products from our small factory in Perranporth. They may well wear flip flops to work (with steel toe caps obviously), but that doesn’t stop them being very dedicated about what we are trying to achieve. Well design, well made, innovative products.

How.

How do you get from a coffee cup……. to our lovely products?

At work place your used coffee cup in the recycling bin.



Your cup will be collected, cleaned and shredded.



This shredded compound is then heated and injected under high pressure into thin strips. These strips are then sliced into small pellets, ready for use on a wide range of manufacturing processes.



Under high pressure thousands of pellets are squashed between two very hot presses. After a short while the pellets have been fused together to form large flat workable sheets.



These sheets are then sanded, cut, cleaned and assembled into a variety of lovely products for us all to enjoy.



The entire nation goes out and buys 5 or 6 of these new, clever, products for all their friends and family.
